We have some exciting events coming up for you all during the UoBe Festival this year!
Beginner ballroom and Latin with Kerry
Our professional ballroom and Latin American dance coach, Kerry Dennehy, is teaching three absolute beginner classes during the UoBe festival in Waltz, Cha-Cha and Jive! If you've ever wanted to learn to dance and fancy picking up a new life skill - or just want to show off your favourite Strictly routines - we'd love to see you in one of our FREE lessons during the UoBe festival!

Beginner Waltz Class
Monday 25th January at 2pm
Are you fed up of swaying on the spot when a slow song is playing? Our professional coach, Kerry Dennehy, will teach you the basics of the Slow Waltz. At the end you will know enough steps to take to the floor next time you are at a wedding or a ball!
Beginner Cha-Cha Class
Wednesday 27th January at 2pm
Do you ever feel embarrassed about your moves when you're dancing in the club? Our professional Latin coach, Kerry Dennehy, will teach you the basics of the cheeky and flirtatious Cha-Cha-Chá. By the end of the class you will be ready to show off your new skills!
Beginner Jive Class
Friday 29th January at 2pm
If you've never danced before and are convinced you have two left feet, this class is for you! Our pro coach Kerry will teach the basics of the Jive, a fun dance done to American swing music. Next time you get the urge to dance in the kitchen, you will be ready!
Beginner's Ballroom Battle
Fancy putting your new-found skills to the test? By submitting a video of yourself and or/your household members performing any/all of three routines - Waltz, Cha-Cha or Jive - you will be in with the chance of winning a free lesson with Kerry!
Don't worry if you can't make it to any of the classes! You can find videos of the routines right here on this page!
This competition is only open to absolute beginners and entries are entirely private - only Kerry will get to see your videos. Entries are through the form below.
BUDS Collaboration
Following the success of our previous collaboration we will again be joining forces with BUDS for a social and a couple of more advanced classes in Commercial and Jive. It would be great to see you there - links will be found on our Facebook group.
Birmingham Online Friendly
Finally, the UoBe festival was due to coincide with Birmingham Friendly - our annual inter-varsity dancesport competition - which is held annually in the Aston Webb Great Hall. This year we have moved to an online only event - entries close on the 23rd January, just before the festival starts, but you will have until the 30th January to submit your videos! There are categories for Beginner, Novice, Intermediate/Advanced as well as Open events and we would encourage all of you to enter if you are interested. The event itself will be premiered on our YouTube channel on Saturday 13th February at 2pm and it would be great to see all of you there - if you've ever wanted to see what a dancesport competition looks like, now is your chance!
