This year, we are heading up to Blackpool on the evening of Friday 25th February. You can expect a fun quiz on the coach on the way up to test your knowledge of dance, BALADS, and the committee!
We stay for two nights in a hotel in the heart of Blackpool, taking in the many attractions discussed, below, then return on the evening of Sunday 27th February.
IVDC
The main attraction for many of us is the Inter Varsity Dance competition (IVDC), held in the fabulous Winter Gardens. There's a full day of events for all categories with both student and ex-student events, as well as acrobatic and non-acrobatic rock and roll, and the usual Team Match.
This is the biggest competition of the year, taking place in a venue like no other, and is not to be missed! If you're interested in competing but don't have a partner, get in touch with Katie or myself.
Offbeat
In the middle of the day on Saturday we perform Offbeat, our group dance routine.
Revolution
After the day has finally concluded, many of us will head out to Revolution for a night out. This is always great fun as all the other University teams will all be there!
Tea Dance
On Sunday morning we head to the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom for a Tea Dance! This is a chance to do some social dancing and some of the sequence dances that we have been practicing, in arguably the finest ballroom in the world.
Buffet
After the Tea Dance we go to Mr Basrai's all-you-can-eat buffet where you can feast to your heart's content!
Signing Up
If this sounds like fun, sign up on our Doodle poll on our private Facebook group before the end of the day so that we can make sure we can get the hotel booked!
