Birmingham Friendly 2022 - Running Order

Thank you all for your support for our upcoming competition! It is set to be a great day of dancing.

To remind you all, the comp will take place in the Aston Webb Great Hall, University of Birmingham on Saturday 29th January. The hall is a short walk from University train station, to and from which there are regular trains from Birmingham New Street station. If you are arriving by coach, we request that you get dropped off at the Guild of Students, University of Birmingham where there is space for the coach to turn around. To those driving, you may park on campus or in the North East Car Park - there is no charge on weekends.

To reach the venue, walk towards Old Joe, the tallest freestanding clocktower in the world. Old Joe is surrounded by a semicircle of red brick building - the central building is the Aston Webb building. Enter through these doors to the lobby - behind the reception desk (operated by University staff) you will find the doors to the Great Hall where our officials will be on hand to check your entries or tickets and hand out team packs, if required. We remind all attendees of the need to complete and be able to provide proof of a negative lateral flow or PCR test within 48 hours of the event start (9am).

When entering and leaving the hall, please observe the one-way system in place. Entry to the hall will be only through the central door. Please do not enter through either the left and right door; this is reserved for exit only to minimise potential contact. We also encourage you all to wear masks inside when moving around the building.

There are toilets on the same floor and on the floor below, which will be signposted. Male and female changing rooms can be found along the corridor, and will also be signposted. Food and drink can be purchased from the Bramall Coffee Shop, which can be found by leaving the hall and following the corridor to your right. There are many food and drink options on campus though most of these are a five minute walk from the Hall, so please be aware of this if you have rounds coming up! Joe's Bar in the Guild of Students will be open for lunch and dinner.

Our officials will direct you to the location of your team's allocated seating, or the spectator seating if you are not with a University team. Please be aware that we are expecting over 400 attendees to be in the hall - when moving around inside the hall please avoid walking along the edge of the floor, especially when rounds are taking place.

There will be first-aid trained security staff on hand during the event. If you require any assistance at any time, please speak to any of our marshalls who will be at the front desk throughout the day.
